Eligible professional investors in Hong Kong were the immediate audience for a private placement of tokenized debt from Mirae Asset Securities’ Hong Kong arm; the offering was not open as a retail product. The arm issued six-month, USD-denominated floating-rate notes on Solana under the firm’s $3 billion structured note program, according to Cointelegraph.

Who issued and distributed the notes?

Mirae Asset Securities (HK) Limited served as issuer, while Singapore-based Marketnode acted as the authorized distributor. Mirae Asset Securities said it managed token issuance, payments and the notes’ lifecycle through its internal digital infrastructure. According to CryptoBriefing, the arrangement connects a Korean parent, a Hong Kong issuer and a Singapore distributor while using a public blockchain. The notes sit under the Guaranteed Structured Note Programme, which functions as a pre-approved shelf for individual issues. Mirae Asset Securities is described as one of South Korea’s largest securities firms. Under the program, individual issues can be drawn without starting the paperwork from scratch each time.

Who could buy the notes, and what was undisclosed?

The notes were offered only through private placement to eligible professional investors in Hong Kong, in line with local rules (TU News). Mirae did not disclose the issuance size, the coupon rate or the benchmark against which the floating rate was calculated. The headline $3 billion figure is the program ceiling, not the amount raised in this particular round. Access was tightly restricted, and the report characterized the private-placement structure as keeping the deal inside a well-defined legal framework. It described Hong Kong as a regulated venue where firms like Mirae can test such products with professional investors.

What changed in Mirae’s tokenization setup?

A previous tokenized issuance in January 2026 relied on external third-party technology. The October issuance replaced that arrangement with Mirae’s proprietary infrastructure. It was the first use of the firm’s own tokenization system by an overseas unit of a South Korean financial firm. The announcement was made on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

How does the issuance fit the group’s digital-asset activity?

Mirae Asset Securities is part of Mirae Asset Financial Group, whose businesses span brokerage, investment banking, asset management and insurance (TradingView). The group’s affiliate Mirae Asset Consulting acquired a controlling stake in crypto exchange Korbit in July, and the exchange subsequently rebranded as Digital X. The group’s asset-management arm, Mirae Asset Global Investments, operates the Global X and TIGER exchange-traded fund brands. Its website listed $275 billion in ETF assets under management as of June 2026 and described its ETF business as the world’s 12th-largest. The Hong Kong unit also announced a separate funding-note issuance linked to Grvt, an on-chain trading platform. In April, the unit secured a digital asset retail license from Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission and launched the MAPS app. The MAPS app combines traditional and digital investment products on a single platform.

What can on-chain traders verify from this transaction?

For traders, the confirmed on-chain element is that the notes were issued on Solana, while token issuance, payments and lifecycle management were handled by Mirae. CryptoBriefing noted the Solana Foundation’s involvement and said this signaled Solana’s active effort to court institutional business. Tokenization and trading execution remain separate subjects: the reports cover institutional note issuance, not the arbitrage or sandwich-execution mechanics described in our guides to on-chain execution conditions and sandwich-attack mechanics. The cited reports do not provide enough disclosed terms for an on-chain trader to model the instrument because the size, coupon rate and benchmark are missing.

Mirae Asset Securities said the transaction could provide a model for distributing a wider range of structured products through blockchain-based channels.
